The Game.

"Little Journeys: A Seed in Need" is a 3D narrative adventure mystery, featuring simple gameplay, unique characters, immersive environment and an interesting storyline.

The game is about a little goblin who lives in a dark forest. During an earthquake, the goblin goes outside of his cave to see what is happening. A boulder falls down from the mountain blocking the goblin's home. He is too weak to move it away, but has a plan to use magic in order to return home. This requires the goblin to go on an adventure to gather more magic from crystals to move the boulder.

Gameplay.

Navigate the goblin through the environment, collecting the magic from magical crystals. The main task is to collect magic to complete puzzles.


Open hidden doors using the collected magic on a  magical stone. Each interaction with a magical stone consumes magic.


Encounter and uncover mysteries along the journey. The game features other characters for the goblin to encoutner further in the adventure.

"Little Journeys: A Seed in Need" designed and developed by Stefan Markovski as a final assignment for the module Interactive Narrative and Digital Storytelling in the MA Games and Playful Design degree in Goldsmiths, University of London 2023/24.

The game is made using the Unity 2022 Engine. The main character was custom made in Blender, textured in Adobe Substance 3D Painter and animated in Maya.

The game takes inspiration from "Little Nightmares" made by Tarsier Studios and "The Last Campfire" by Hello Games.

This is a great little game! Some camera control would be nice, the trees on the bottom half of the screen can make it difficult to see at times, and it took me forever to find a certain tool. Sprinting would also be nice!


Great work, would love to see a longer version with more puzzles, items, and lore!
